ABOUT THE PROJECT
This documentary film, exhibition workshops and commemorative book will tell the story of South Liverpool children and their memories of growing up during World War II
The stories, memories and truths of hardship and destruction will be told through interviews, personal letters, photos and artefacts alongside archive footage, photographs and testimonials, putting forward a balanced critical perspective on growing up, family life, school, food and fears during the war.
The aim of telling individuals stories and documenting the facts of the time will inform the local community on the truths of childhood and war.
As well as engaging the audience, the stories told will evoke emotions experienced in reality, empathy, sorry and hope and bring the audience closer to the history of their parents and grandparents.
